It was Minnesota's night, though, as Quinn Hughes, Kirill Kaprizov, and goaltender Filip Gustavsson all had excellent games. 5-1 was the final in favor of the Wild.

Brayden Point continued to produce after being out for a while, and Nikita Kucherov kept his name appearing on the scoring sheet, but it was not enough to sneak a win in Carolina.

The Men's Olympic Hockey Quarterfinal Round dazzled and entertained the hockey world on Wednesday. Spectacular play, comebacks, and overtime thrillers brought the fans of four teams to their feet, and drew the angst of those on the losing side.

The Elimination Rounds have started at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy. Four members of the Tampa Bay Lightning moved on with their respective teams through the playoff qualifiers, while two Bolts saw their Olympic dreams come ot an end on Tuesday.
